Community spirit? Selfhelp? Let’s share the burden? Whatever or whichever it is, the FORE (Facility for Occupational and Rehabilitative Enterprises) Workshop for the handicapped receives a helping hand March 6 when the Rappahannock Hunt Pointto-Point takes place at Thornton Hill Farm, Sperryville.
Rappahannock race officials recently put their heads together and decided to bite the Reaganomics bullet to aid the Financially strapped private organization serving Rappahannock, Fauquier, Madison, Culpeper and Orange counties’ “special people.”
David Carter, race chairman, says a percentage of program sales will go to FORE, and there will be a - location designated at the .race course for a FORE booth.
There, he says, persons can . learn more about the organization and make a donation if they want to.
"This area’s handicapped citizens are suffering even more in these days of reduced , government spending,” says ' FORE board chairman H. T. A. Nevill, “and the fact that Rappahannock Hunt wants ‘ to help one of its own is > certainly a gleam of hope at a time when we face great t hardship. It seems the hunt v has taken an important lead in helping those who help « thpmselves.”
