Travelers to Shenandoah National Park in January were almost half the number a year ago. Compared to 1981 figures the decrease is, 58 percent for the month. Inclement weather was a > major factor. This January saw 13,900 people visiting the park while the total in 1982 was 33,100; however, those entering the Park at Panorama this January totaled 6,400 while a, year ago the number was 7,200, only a 11 percent decrease. This was favorable!, for Rappahannock’s wayside * businesses who garner many sales from park visitors.
