Outdoor Toilets Used

BZA chairman Lee Bird said that during the board’s on-site inspection last week, he had noticed the indoor toilets in the church weren't being used by the school children, reportedly because the indoor system wasn’t approved for school use.

Sickels replied that the sewage disposal system needs “certain modifications" to meet requirements for school use. emphasizing that whatever the health department calls for will be done. He added that a special use permit had to be issued first before sanitarian Jack Lockhart would grant a sewer permit.

He described Massanova as “a typical rural church serving the needs of residents in the immediate area" and gave the BZA members copies of a letter signed by three adjoining landowners, all in support of the special use permit application.
