Purchased with a 75-25 percent federal matching grant of SI0,000 recently awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services, the advanced life support apparatus includes radio equipment, electrocardiogram monitor and defibrillator.
The monitor enables rescue squadsmen trained in advanced life support to track heart rhythm. The information is transmitted directly to Fauquier Hospital, the only area facility that currently has the capability to receive telemetry.
