John Quaintance, former teacher at Rappahannock County High School, recently took over as principal of Hunters Woods Elementary School in Reston, Fairfax County.
As principal, Quaintance guided his previous school, Springfield Estates, through the county’s distributive management course for teachers and will assist the Hunters Woods teachers when they go through the curriculum next year. Under distributive management, authority is delegated to team leaders among the teaching staff.
Quaintance also plans to develop a parents education committee as an arm of the PTA to give parents interested in curriculum development an opportunity
