According to the coach the final score of 31-24 doesn’t reflect how close the contest actually was. “It should have been a two-point game but they fouled us a lot in the final minutes and we connected on our free throws.”
Deryck Moore was high scorer with 12 points followed by Tommy Jenkins and Rector, each with ten. Connifey noted that the Page coach had assigned his best defensive player to give double coverage to Rector after he began to connect. “With the extra man on Thomas, our other players were able to get free,” he added.
In two games against Strasburg, the eighth grade Panthers won handily, 42-20 and 47-21, prompting compliments from opposing coach Milson French.

Rappahannock's only defeat came at the hands of William Monroe, a team they'd trounced by nine points in the season opener.
