The Eagles continued to make good plays, however, and recaptured a quick 40-35 advantage. It wasn’t until Jenkins, with 49 seconds left on the clock , made a layup that Rapp got the lead back, 41-40. Clarke later stepped up to the foul line to shoot two free throws but connected on only one to tie the score at 46 all. Brown clinched the win when he connected on a free throw from the charity strip to give his team a 42-41 lead, missed on the first shot of a one-and-one, H.B. Wood sealed the victory with a final free throw to make it 43-41.
