Former Aileen Employee Mrs. Dora Ellen Nethers Updike of Washington, died Friday, December 31, 1982, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She was 66. Born on July 21, 1916, in Rappahannock County, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Christie Hawkins Nethers. Mrs. Updike was retired from Aileen Manufacturing in Flint Hjjl and a member of Washington Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Henry Taylor Updike of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Myrla Anne Updike Parker of Sperryville; Mrs. Gail Ellen Updike Newland of Hamilton, Ohio; a son, Henry Taylor Updike Jr. of Culpeper; five grandchildren; three brothers, George Ashby Nethers and Robert M. Nethers, both of Front Royal and Charles Henry Nethers of San Diego, Calif, and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Frances Burke of Woodville. Funeral services were held on Monday at the Moody Funeral Service Chapel in Culpeper by the Rev. Marvin Cook. Burial was in the Washington Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Christopher Updike, Franklin Parker Jr.. Nelson Nethers, Biljy Nethers, Phillip Parker and Richard Burke.
