The Rappahannock Country Varsity Panthers extended their record to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in Bull Run District play Tuesday night with an easy 77-55 victory over the Clarke (iounty Eagles.
“Tonight we played a lot like we did earlier against Brentsville (75-57) except we looked sharper on all phases of the game,” coach Doyle Dawson reported.
Clarence “Perkins” Pendleton quickly put the Panthers on the right track by stealing an Eagle pass and going the length of the court for the game’s first points. Then center Mike Leake rejected an Eagle shot and Jeff Porter saved the ball from going out of bounds. He passed to Pendleton and the junior forward built a fire under the Panthers with a jam that gave RCHS a 4-0 lead. Coach Dawson explained
