Daphne I. Hutchinson, editor of the Rappahannock News, has been named editor and general manager by Arthur W. Arundel, president of Arundel Communications, which also includes the Loudoun Times Mirror, the Reston Times, the Fauquier Democrat and the Clarke Courier.
Hutchinson has worked for the News for five years, and prior to that worked for the Fauquier Publishing Company, publishers of the Piedmont Virginian and Rappahannock News before the latter was purchased by Arundel Communications in 1977.
Her promotion, announced Jan. 1, makes her one of five general managers in Arundel Communications.

Oasis Vineyard at Hume has won, for the second year, the silver medal for its white Domaine dela Venne 1982 Semilion at the Wineries Unlimited eastern wine competition. Oasis has also won first and third prizes for Virginia red wines at. the annual Middleburg wine festival.
Oasis is located four miles from Flint Hill on Route 635 and is open seven days a week between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
