Walters, and Janies Reston of the New York, TIMES, and Walter Cronkite, now retired, but included because a few years ago he was considered the most trusted man in America. Daphne was judged to be the complete communicator, who does her own reporting, her own editing, and who also takes pictures which accompany her writings. In response to the question “Of all of these persons, which would you want to write - your obituary?”, the choice of Daphne-was unanimous.
The controlling questions in making choices in the 4th category, was “Whom would you like to have come into view, say, following a nuclear attack: the Secretary of Defense, in an Ml tank; The Commander in Chief of the Armed Services, Ronald Reagan in a helicopter; or Carrol Jenkins, of Sperryville, with a pick-up truck?” Here again the choice was unanimous for Carrol.
