MR. ADLER joined the
Barter Theatre in the
production of J.B. Priestly’s play “Dangerous Corner”. The play appeared at the Washington High School Auditorium and was sponsored by the American Legion. Mr. Adler’s appearance with the Barter Players was made possible due to the slow season in Hollywood and to this production’s limited engagement.
Mrs. E.R. Browning and Mrs. John S. Browning were joint hostesses to the Flint Hill Garden Club which met at their home in Flint Hill on Wednesday afternoon. The flower arrangements consisted of house plants. Mrs. John S. Browning’s exhibit of a potted coleus plant received the second highest score.
It was unanimously resolved by the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County that all toll charges be removed for calls made within the County. The Board respectfully requested that the phone companies (Virginia Telephone & Telegraphy Company and the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company) abolish toll charges for such calls. Telephone toll charges between the various Districts are disunifying for the County the Supervisors claimed.
