An Open Letter to the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors and State Emergency Planner Charles Kidder:
We. the inhabitants of Jordan River Farm, would like to withdraw our participation in the proposed evacuation plan for Rappahannock County. We think it would be very inconsiderate of us to offer our farm for the use of some of the proposed 9,000 guests during a nuclear war when we and the farm will not be here.
It would be inconvenient, to say the least, for someone to drive all the way from D.C. only to find the farm and its inhabitants missing.

The Rappahannock Courity Board of Supervisors was recently asked by a representative of the Central Government of cooperate with its plans for what appears to be the certain result of its nuclear arms policy.
It therefore seems that a responsible rejoinder by the Supervisors would be to urge the adoption by the Central Government of the mutually agreed upon nuclear freeze with the Government of the U.S.S.R., and, secondly, to declare Rappahannock a Nuclear Free County.
