The Rappahannock supervisors turned down a request from the Izaak Walton League on Monday to rescind approval for a crisis relocation plan which - will bring 6,000-9,000 urban evacuees to the county should a nuclear attack be considered imminent.
League Spokesman Dr. Werner Krebser noted that the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s crisis re-location plan is supposed to make nuclear war survivable. By evacuating city dwellers from high risk areas, civil defense planners hope to save 80 percent of the U.S. population, the local doctor reported.
