Schools were closed on Monday due to the snow on Sunday. As the snow began to fall in the early morning hours, it kept folks from going to church, visiting family and friends and doing other social activities.

Mrs. Conoly Bedell of Fort Smith, Ark. arrived Friday to spend a week with her grandmother, Mrs. W. M. Fletcher and will also visit Mr. and Mrs. Harold Faulkner in Orange.

Mrs. James S. Willis, James S. Willie III and John Merrando of West Point, N.Y. spent from Wednesday until Saturday with Mrs. Arthur Miller. Enroute to Averette College in Danville where James S. Willis, III is a student they had lunch on Sunday with Miss Michelle Willis, a student at University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Mrs. Willis and John Merrando will also visit Col. and Mrs. Robert Leach at Chapel Hill, N. C.

Mr. and Mrs. Everette

Cortwright of Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Fairfax attended the community concert in Manassas last Thursday evening.

Cletus Burke of Front Royal was a Wednesday luncheon guest of Mrs. Charles C. Burke.

Mrs. Lynne Baines, Bob and Lee and Mrs. Susan Henry, Jason and Heather spent Saturday at the Science Museum in Richmond and were joined there by Mrs. Baines’ sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert Baker, Lynell and Blake of Suffolk.

J. Stant Weaver^ attended a family dinner on Saturaday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Peneranda in Culpeper. Visiting Mr. Weaver on Sunday were Mark Peneranda of Manssas and Carolyn Crook of Fairfax.

Mrs. Leonard Campbell spent from Friday until Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Lacey Dodson in Front Royal.

Mrs. Mary G. Edmonds of Huntly was a Saturday visitor of Miss Annie Miller Almond. Friday callers were Mrs. Ruth Keyser and Newbill Miller.

Mr. and Mrs. John Clark, Jr., Stacey and Amanda were Saturday evening dinner guests of Mrs. Alice Beahm.

Mrs. L. J. Turner and Mrs. E. M. Jones attended the Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary benefit dinner held Saturday evening at the fire hall there.

Ashby Wayland returned home on Thursday after being a patient in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
