DAR Award
The Rappahannock Chapter of the National Daughters of the American Revolution have selected Walter Scott Reid. Ill, a student at Wakefield Country Day School to receive a DAR Good Citizenship Award.
“Scott’s presence in the classroom is like a jet of flame, brightening and enlivening every discussion, causing everyone present (including the instructor) to reason a little more closely" said Wakefield Headmaster William Lynn, Jr.
“An incessant reader, Scott is quite authoratative on any number of subjects, especially current events and 20th Century History. He is so knowledgeable (anti articulate) about WW II that I once had him deliver a series of lectures in my modem European History Class.
Scott is the student whose judgements and opinions carry the most weight, for he is well known to be fair and honest,” Lynn said.
Scott is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Walter Scott Reid, Jr. of Front Royal.
