A 21 year-old Rappahannock man, skilled in martial arts, turned the tables on his knife-wielding assailants during an attempted robbery in Warrenton last week when he knocked both males to the ground using only his feet.
The assailants, one black and the other white, ran from the scene emptyhanded after the skirmish and are still at large. The victim was not harmed, but his attackers, each described as about 6 feet 10 inches tall, reportedly suffered injuries to the face and head, says Police Chief H. Gary Heath.
Police suspect that the two may be the same ones that forced their way into a Winchester Street apartment two weeks ago and assaulted the lone male occupant at gunpoint. The victim in that incident also thwarted the robbery attempt by locking himself in a bathroom and breaking out a
