The Board .of Zoning Appeals meeting last Friday, granted a special use permit for Charles Elvis Dodson to open an auto repair shop on route 707 in Slate Mills. The shop would be in an existing metal building on the property of his parents, in an area zoned agricultural.

Dodson presented a petition to the board with 91 signatures of Rappahannock residents endorsing his intention to use the building for an auto repair shop. In the petition he stipulated that there would be no excessive noise and no derelict cars on the premises.

Dodson described the building as a 30’ x 40’ metal frame structure about 75 feet from the road on a cement foundation. He said
