World War II Veteran
Horace Marvin Scott, age 72, of Amissville, died on Tuesday, February 1, 1983, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late George and Georgeanna Scott Scott. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War II and a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church, Viewtown.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Isa Mae Hitt Scott of Amissville; one daughter, Mrs. Violet Scott Woodard of Manassas; four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Barnes of Maryland, Mrs. Ruby Elliott of Fredericksburg, Mrs. Virgie Martin of Amissville and Mrs. Savilla Bailey of Brandy Station; two brothers, Clarence Scott of Castleton and Arthur Scott of Culpeper.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday at Clore Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper by the Rev. A. C. Walker, Jr. Burial was in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of arrangements.
Roy Wampler
Amissville Resident
Roy Arnold Wampler, 26, of Amissville died Wednesday, February 2, 1983, at his residence.
Funeral services were conducted at the Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton on Saturday by the Rev. Gertrude Nuddiman. Burial was in the Stonewali Memory Gardens Cemetery in Manassas.
In addition to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Wampler of Haymarket, survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wendy M. Wampler; a daughter, Krystal Wampler; two stepdaughters, Miss Bill McKinney and Miss Bobby McKinney; three brothers, Eddie Wampler and John Wampler, both of Haymarket and Ronnie Wampler of Warrenton and five sisters, Mrs. Catherine Rice of Catlett, Mrs. Lois Allen of Woodbridge, Mrs. Sharron Statts and Mrs. Barbara Jernco, both of Haymarket and Mrs. Carolyn Fincham of Warrenton.
