Argiro said no one was at home, but that officers found two or three apparently well cared for cannabis plants growing approximately ten yards from the house and another plant on the other side of the house. The plants appeared to be freshly watered and were mulched with wood shavings, according to Argiro, who added there was a definite and pronounced path between the house and the cluster of plants.
Argiro said he bundled the plants and took them in his car to Route 211 where the ground crew had assembled. He then separated the plant contents from the stalks and saved them to be stored in a manilla envelope in the State Police evidence locker in Culpeper. On September 21, he delivered the plant material to the Maryfield forensics lab for analysis.
