Wild waterfowl and birds may also be infected with or carriers of avian influenza. Hunters should be cautious.

At this time, there have been no outbreaks in Rappahannock County. However, producers with any fowl at all (2 to 500 birds) are asked to call the Extension Office (675-3619) and leave their name and the number of birds they own. The office is putting together educational materials to send to all poultry growers in the county.
