This week the public hearing of the most interest to my constituents was on House Bill No. 479 relating to a coal slurry pipeline connecting the coalfields of Southwestern Virginia to the Port of Hampton Roads. The marathon public hearing attracted approximately 500 people and lasted close to five hours. No action was taken. Instead a subcommittee was appointed to study the more than 20 proposed amendments to the bill and r make a report.
On Thursday another public hearing of considerable interest was held on all drunk driving bills. This was well attended and became emotional at times. No ac
