In a room just off the main office, Streapy had the children climb a step ladder to stand level with his work area. He rolled fresh black ink for each as he asked whether they had been watching the children ahead of them. “You know what to do?” he asked each.
They did. Most children love to get dirty. And they rolled their fingers in the ink with relish as Streapy guided each finger separately and then imprinted it on a large cardboard until the record of all ten fingers was completed.
After being sent to the next room to wash up, each child received his completed and dried record caird to take home to his parents. Each child needed a signed parental consent form to participate. The only copy of prints was to be kept by the parents.
