NSDAR To Meet

Tuesday, February 14 at 2:00 p.m. is the meeting date for the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter NSDAR.

Mrs. Woodruff Kearns of Lake of The Woods will be the hostess at the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Culpeper.

Mrs. Dale Metzinger of Sperryville will conduct the meeting.

The speaker will be Mr. Jennings Flathers of Gainesville, Va. and his topic is “18th Century in Northern Piedmont. Mr. Flathers is an active member of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter Sons of the American Revolution.

Woman To Be Shown

On Friday, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 12, at 7 p.m., the French Lieutenant’s Woman will be shown with Meryl Streep, Jeremy Irons, (Brideshead Revisited).

In adapting John Fowles’ novel to the screen, Harold Pinter devised a film-within-afilm that parallels the lives of the modern actors playing the roles and the lives of their Victorian counterparts.

This film will be shown at the Gay St. Theater in Washington, Va., Admission is $2.50 for RAAC members and $3 for others.

Sperryville Club Organizing

The Sperryville Community 4-H Club will hold its organizational meeting on February 20 at 7 p.m. in the firehall.

Members will be able to choose from hundreds of possibilities for 4-H projects: adventure with your camera, let’s start a business, entomology, wildlife, to buy or not to buy, wheels, small engines and woodworking, just to name a few of the possibilities. Kids can even write their own project.

A suprise is planned for the February 20 meeting and all youngsters from the Sperryville area are invited to attend.
