Eileen Day has been named president of the Piedmont Board of Realtors.
Day, who manages Eileen Day Realty in Washington, received her real estate license in 1964 and moved to Rappahannock County from neighboring Fauquier in 1968. Employed then by Thomas and Talbot of Middleburg, she worked out of her home. She opened her own office in 1976 in what is now Middle Street Gallery and joined the Piedmont Board of Realtors soon after. She was appointed to Piedmont’s board of directors in 1980.
That same year, she was awarded a million dollar sales certificate by Realty World. “I’m no longer so actively involved in sales but someone from our office has had sales totalling over $1 million every year since. That’s pretty good for being in little Rappahannock County during a recession with interest rates so high,” Day said.
Day recently completed graduation requirements at the Realtor’s Institute, finishing a comprehensive 90 hour course that covered ethics, appraising, financing, construction, marketing and real estate law.
