Like a voice crying in the wilderness, one citizen spoke in behalf of fiscal restraint.
Bob Eastham ofH Flint Hill called the proposed budget “very generous,” and an astounding increase.
“(It’s) your duty to try to get this budget trimmed down,” Eastham told the supervisors.
Eastham suggested that the supervisors drop all new programs being considered. “New programs never die, they just grow,” he chided.
Specifically, Eastham asked the supervisors to drop a proposed $4,000 expenditure for a “Court Services” program, commonly referred to as a victim-witness program.
Eastham called the program a “low priority,” and beckoned the supervisors to “chip away where we can.” '
