gredients. Mix. Knead on a floured surface and pat into a 10-inch round cake pan. Bake till done on 425° about 15 min. Remove from pan and split and butter.
Combine 1 qt. strawberries and sugar to your taste (not more than 1 c.). Fill shortcake with strawberries and put remaining mixture over the top of the shortcake. Top with whipped cream and a whole strawberry garnish.
Strawberry Mousse Cada Holliday, Kabletown, WV
1 large pkg. strawberry jello
2 c. boiling water
juice of 1 lemon
Vi c. sherry
2 c. whipping cream of Dream Whip, Cool Whip, etc.
lVi c. strawberries (cut in small pieces and mashed).
Dissolve jello in 2 cups boiling water and add lemon juice, V2 c. sherry and cool until quivery. Beat Dream Whip, stir in jello mixture and crushed strawberries. Chill in mold 2 hours or overnight.
Strawberry Sherbet
April Heddleston of Woodville makes a wonderful strawberry sherbet and was delighted to share it with our readers and homemakers.
1 quart of strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 egg white
Mash the berries with a fork, add water, sugar and egg white. Freeze to heavy mush. Beat with electricmixer. Freeze again.

Festival
Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts Festival at Harpers’ Ferry, W. V. this weekend with over 109 artists. The E.H. bus trip has turned into a carpool and we will meet June 8th at the Trinity Episcopal Church at 8:30 a.m. and leave at 8:40 a.m. We will return to Rappahannock County in time to attend graduation at RCHS.
