The principals of the project have spent considerable time and “hundreds of thousands” of dollars trying to appease neighbors and do the right thing. In all probability, ground already could have been broken for a mental health care facility.
There’s time now for the supervisors to get the straight scoop, too. On questions of legality, procedure and jurisdiction, the supervisors went into a stall at half court instead of driving in for a lay-up. They were disorganized and should have anticipated better the storm that touched down in the middle of their meeting.
Fortunately, their indecision worked out for the best for now. The supervisors are not relentlessly driving forward in darkness. •
Come June 21, when the supervisors’ decision on the bond issue will be made, it anil be spoken—as closely as possible—with one voice.
