Ronnie Atkins, Jr., of Sperryville, and James Freeman, Jr., of Washington, have been selected to represent Rappahannock County High School later this month at Boys State in Lynchburg, Va.
Begun in Virginia in 1939, Boys State offers par-' ticipants firsthand experience in the functions of the American political system.
Each boy who attends becomes a “resident” of a “city” made up of about 60 citizens. The entire group of cities becomes the “state.” Each boy is assigned to a political party, either Frederalist or Nationalist.
