POSITION VACANCY
COUNTY BUILDING OFFICIAL
The Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County is considering applicants for the position of a bulking official who shall be responsible for inspection and enforcement of the BOCA Building codes for all applicable construction in Rappahannock County.
To be eligible for appointment the BOCA Basic Bulking Code states that the building official shall have at least five (5) years building experience as a licensed professional engineer or architect, building inspector, contractor or superintendent of building construction, for three (3) years of which experience he shall have been in responsible charge of work, and he shall be generally informed on good engineering practice in respect to the design and construction of buildings, the basic principles of fire prevention, the accepted requirements tor means of egress and the installation of elevators and other service equipment necessary for the health, safety and general welfare of the occupants. The Board may waive one or more of these requirements where it is determined that the applicant has related experience or aptitude.
This will be a part-time position with mileage oompensation and compensation for attendance at approved training seminars. The position will become effective July 1, 1964. Salary $7,000 annually (after July 1,1964).
