Retired Sawmill Worker
Kelly Monroe Edwards, 75, of Amissville, died Monday, May 28, 1984, at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.
Mr. Edwards was a native of Rappahannock County and a retired sawmill worker.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alice Mae Edwards of Ami88ville; one son, William Kelly Edwards of Falls Church; four daughters, Mrs. Fannie Brooks of Marshall, Mrs. Evelyn Turner of Silver Spring, Md., Mrs. Gladys Smith and Miss Shirley Edwards, both of Richmond; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Thomas of Washington, D. C.; 18 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Satuday at the Bethel Baptist Church in Amissville by the Rev. Carter Allsbury of Strasburg. Burial was in the family section of the Bailey Cemetery, Poles Road, Amiss ville.

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Wharton, 88, of Culpeper, died on Thursday, May 31, 1984, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Wharton was a native of Rappahannock County and a member of Slate Mills Baptist Church. She was the daughter of Charlie and Susie Haynes McFarland. Her husband was the late William Franklin Wharton.
Survivors include a son, Otis William Wharton of Culpeper; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Wharton and Mrs. Ollie Virginia Wharton, both of Culpeper; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Fincham of Alexandria, Mrs. Cora Campbell of Etlan and Mrs. Nellie Fox of Orange and a brother, Clarence McFarland of Orange.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper by the Rev. Edward Hawkins. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
