Two exciting victories occurred on the road as the Owls traveled to Woodberry Forest and Blue Ridge School. In an extremely close match, Wakefield defeated the host Woodberry Tigers 5-4. Larry Taw of Wanrenton and David Routie of Amissville each won important singles matches, then teamed up at number 3 doubles to win the decisive match.
Wakefield closed its season with a home rematch against St. James from Hagerstown and lost in a raindelayed thriller, 6-3.
