NSDAR To Observe Flag Day
“Stories in the Stars” will be the topic of the Flag Day program to be presented by Mrs. James Harkness of Lake of The Woods when the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter NSDAR meets Tuesday, June 12, at 2:00 p.m. The chapter members will assemble in the Culpeper United Methodist Church with Mrs. Philip S. Cox and Mrs. George L. Taylor as hostesses.
Burke Reunion
The families of the late Lewis and Bessie Jenkins Burke will hold their annual reunion at the Rappahannock Park on Sunday, June 10. “Come, taring a picnic lunch and meet old and new friends,” said a family spokesperson. Lunch will be served at 12:30.
Home Schooling Workshop
The Home Educators Association of Virginia is sponsoring Dr. Paul Cates, Christian educational psychologist, and William Stanmeyer, constitutional lawyer and author, at the Home Schooling Workshop on Saturday, June 23 at the West End AlK»nr» Church, 3915 Frandstown Road, Richmond.
Additional speakers include Virginia parents who are teaching their own children at home. Workshops will cover Teaching Math at Home, Teaching Reading, Teaching the Child with Learning Problems, and How to Start your own Home Schooling Program.
