Kicky Lee Pullen, charged with his second offense of driving while intoxicated, appeared before Judge John Alexander in General District Court. Pullen’s attorney, Douglas Baumgardner, suggested to Judge Alexander that Pullen be sent a second time to the Virginia Automobile Safety Action Program (VASAP) because he might leam: more.

Pullen testified that he apparently hadn’t learned enough yet about why he shouldn't drink and drive, and maybe this time VASAP will help. Pullen vasn’t sure how much he,, irank but thought it was ‘right much.” , v.w'

Judge Alexander, iri< igreeing with Baumgardner, stated it was not‘ ; tis “policy to reassign toll f A&APj; mother longer and more inensive exposure with the— »rrective influence of (Pullin’s) bride-to-be will condnce him to walk the traight and narrow.”

Commonwealth Attortey Peter Luke recomnended the judge also give Gillen a suspended jail senence “to enforce complimce” with VASAP.

Alexander sentenced i^en to VASAP, fined him (200 plus costs, sentenced lim to 30 days, suspended, ind restricted his license for six months to driving to and 'rom work.
