ANNOUNCES NER OF DAIRY RECIPE TEST!
The first "Milk - The Official Beverage of Virginia’’ dairy recipe contest has a winner. Claiming the 9600 grand prize from the Virginia State Dairymen’s Association is Mrs. Dawn Conlan of Woodbridge with her Elegant Cheese Casserole. Mrs. Conlan’s recipe follows:
1 lb. Monterey Jade cheese, grated
1 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
2 4-oz. cans chopped green chiliee, drained
1 medium onion, grated
4 eggs, separated
2/8 cup canned evaporated milk
IT. flour
1/2 tap. salt
1/8 tap. pepper
2 tomatoes, sliced
In a large bowl combine the cheeses, chiliee and onion. Set aside. With electric mixer at high speed, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside. With electric mixer, combine egg yolks, milk, flour, salt and pepper. Gently fold this mixture into the egg whites. Add half the egg mixture to the cheese mixture. Fold mixtures together until blended. Spoon this mix
