Mountain Dew led all the rest by a considerable margin, that is one on one, but not in overall totals. Pepsi Cola, and Coca Cola ranked in a tie for second, followed by Dr. Pepper, Seven Up, and then Tab and Diet Pepsi, and one abandoned container that once held some kind of grape drink.
The significant conclusion from this Data is that Mountain Dew drinkers are different, and that those who drunk sugared drinks seem more ready to litter than those who are into diet drinks.
The data on solid food litter and containers for non-liquids was more difficult to gather. Zagnut candy wrappers and bags that once held cheese popcorn, along with plastic cups, were most numerous. In statistically insignificant numbers we noted also that potato chip containers, a cup-cake mold, and one Milky Way (the candy of the Olympics) wrapper.
According to our estimates, if the standard |S0 littering fine could have been assessed for each violation in this three-mile stretch of the road, the state could have collected some |6,000.
