Miss Lena Stoltzfus’ first grade gave a Hawaiian luau for parents and Mends on January 31 at Rappahannock County Elementary School. The guests were greeted with v a colorful tissue paper lei and a Mendly “aloha” by the students dressed in grass skirts.
“Ending my unit with a luau brought everything that we had learned together in a ' fun way,” explained Miss Stoltaftis. “Before today we had talked about what a ltiart was and we saw slides of a luau that showed some things the Hawaiians. do and why they do them.” ,
