Commissioner Thomas P. Harwood Jr. has been elected chairman of the Virginia State Corporation Commission for a one-year term. Judge Harwood succeeds Chairman Preston C. Shannon in the annual rotation of the chairmanship among the three Virginia commissioners.
A veteran of commission service since first being elected to the SCC by the legislature in 1973, Judge Harwood is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and University of Virginia School of Law.
