In the final quarter, both teams struggled offensively, as each team could muster only seven points. During the three minute overtime period, Woodberry outscored the Owls 10-6 en route to their 51-45 victory. In the second game of the week, Wakefield hosted the St. James team which held a distinct advantage in size. As the game commenced, St. James utilized their advantage to dominate the Wakefield players around the basket. As a result of St. James’ scoring ability inside, the Saints jumped to a 32-15 lead at the half.
In the second half, St. James had little trouble continuing to overpower Wakefield as they allowed the Owls to score only four points in the third quarter. Although Wakefield managed to keep up with their opponents in the fourth quarter, St. James emerged with a 64-33 victory.
This week Wakefield has scheduled matches against RMA and Rappahannock High School.

Wakefield School will hold Admissions and Placement testing on Saturday, February 22, beginning at 10 a.m. There is no pre-application necessary for the testing, but interested parents are urged to call the school before the testing date in order to receive a catalog and application.
