The house of James Dodson
near Flint Hill was destroyed by fire February 2. The Dodsons were away at the time of the fire and the origin of the blaze is not known.
Page and Frank Moffett of Boy Scout Troop 64 Washington were promoted from first class scouts to Star Scouts Saturday. A Reviewing Board made up of Mr. W. C. Campbell, Judge Raynor Snead and Rev. Cabney Carr reviewed the merit badge awards of the scouts before promoting them.
The Farmers Home Administration, an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture, may make Farm Ownership loans to eligible farm families. The loan purpose may be either for the purchase of a farm or for refinancing the present farm debt. The repayment period may be scheduled up to 40 years at five percent.
