Fine gifts at Middle St.
The Middle Street Gallery in Washington is displaying fine arts and crafts for holiday gifts. Oil paintings and sculpture, baskets, cards, tree decorations and more are available from the members of this fine cooperative gallery. Extension conferences set
The 28th Virginia Turfgrass Conference and Trade Show will be held Jan. 19,20,21 at the Richmond Marriott.
National Farmers’ Direct Marketing Conference will be held Jan. 21-23 at Williamsburg.
The 1987/88 Commercial Small Fruits School has been rescheduled to Jan. 19. The conference was previously scheduled for Nov. 11, but was snowed out. It will be held at the Northern Virginia! 4TWiEdu1 cational Center,' located off Rt. 522 and Rt. 604, two miles south of
Front Royal. All participant musttpre-t^gist^r preserve a place for lunch. Registration fee is $6 per person, which covers the cost of morning coffee, juice, doughnuts, lunch and handout materials.
Red House Open House and Beef Judging Clinic will be held Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m., at Red House Bull Evaluation Center, Red House.

Santa at Castleton
Santa will be at the Castleton fire hall on Sunday, Dec. 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. Parents are urged to bring their children. There is no admission charge and goodies will be served.
Displays at Middle St.
Rex Slack’s newest miniature construction - Night Train II - will be on display at Middle Street Gallery’s Christmas show this weekend only. It is a portrait of his mother in her living room, built into a 1950 Philco television set, complete with sound track.
Also featured at the show are the sensitive and delicate black and white photographs of Anne Douglas Atherton, watercolor landscapes by Donna Brune and Dan Lewis, pottery by Jeanne Drevas, handmade paper by Nina Moore, photographs by Clyde Lee and whimsical collages (Santa Celebrations) by Laurie Marshall. Gallery hours are 11-6, Friday through Sunday.
