On the offense for Rappahannock, Eric Dunn and Butch Foster led the attack. Dunn contributed 27 points and Foster sank an additional 12, while scooping up 15 rebounds.
On the defensive end of the court, Mike Dearing, Wesley Jenkins and Julian Groves kept the lid on the Manassas Park attack. Dearing and Jenkins added six and five points, respectively. Coach Leake praised the efforts of Groves, a sophomore who won a starting berth, then held Manassas Park’s leading scorer to seven points on the night.
“I was very pleased with our balanced scoring attack,” the coach said. “This team has a lot of depth this year, and I’m satisfied with the amount of teamwork that they put out at this point in the season.” He noted that of the 14 players suited up for Tuesday’s game, all 14 played and all scored. “That’s a very positive note. It’s a mark of a complete team effort and win.”
