As the holidays approached, Joyce Engineering is preparing final design plans for the Department of Waste Management’s approval, which could come within two months.
The county’s present disposal facility, a private dump located on Clifton Clark’s property outside Woodville, must be completely closed by Dec. 31, according to John McCarthy, the board’s administrative assistant. Therefore, the clock is running on the county’s 120-day disposal agreement with Culpeper County.
Because Joyce Engineering’s final design plans have not yet been approved by the state, there’s no word on when the Stover site could be in operation as a landfill.
