• Agreed that further consideration of the problem of property owners parking temporarily or permanently inoperable motor vehicles in their yards is overdue. After considering several options, the com-' missioners agreed that the town’s attorney should write letters to those affected requesting removal of the vehicles. No formal request for such a letter was made.

• Tabled for further study a request from the Town Council for consideration of an ordinance to require smoke detectors in hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, apartments and rooming houses.

• Heard a request by Ms. Kramer for the ARB to consider the regulation of newspaper delivery tubes. As permanent structures visible from the street, she said, they fall under the jurisdiction of the ARB and require a certificate of appropriateness.
