‘Selected Works’ at Middle St.
This gallery is an artists’ cooperative which shows works from members and guests. The January exhibit of painting, sculpture and fiber will include Nina Moore’s delicate, almost ethereal handmade paper sculpture, and Dan Lewis’ realistic and clean watercolors. He takes views along the roads of Rappahannock County w ith his serene landscapes and moody interiors. The public is invited to the opening Sunday, Jan. 10,3 to 5 p.m. The show’ will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, Jan. 8-Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
County Methodist Services
The United Methodist Churches wall have worship services for Sunday, Jan. 3, as follows:

There is an hour of silent worship on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Middle Street Gallery.
Extension conferences set
The 28th Virginia Turfgrass Conference and Trade Show w ill be held Jan. 19, 20, 21 at the Richmond Marriott.
National Farmers’ Direct Marketing Conference will be held Jan. 21-23 at Williamsburg.
The 1987/88 Commercial Small Fruits School has been rescheduled to Jan. 19 at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center, off Rt. 522 and Rt. 604, two miles south of Front Royal. All participants must pre-register to reserve a place for lunch. Registration fee is $6 per person, which covers the cost of morning coffee, juice, doughnuts, lunch and handout materials.

Diet and nutrition program
Fauquier Hospital is starting a new diet and nutrition program called “Lean Living.” Interested persons can learn about the program at one of the free introductory meetings on either Jan. 5, 6 or 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fauquier Hospital Educational Center.
