In the bottom of the inning RCHS narrowed the gap. Nokes began the run with a walk. Two outs later Dana Fincham blasted the ball to centerfield and Nokes scored. Jan Dodson, playing in her first game, knocked in Fincham with a single.

Trailing 3-2, Rappahannock tightened its defense and eliminated any opportunity for the Generals to score the remainder of the match.

The Panthers surged ahead when Wines singled and Dodson walked. With two out Dawn Johnson hit a fly ball to right field that the Stonewall player couldn’t handle and Wines crossed home plate, evening the score.

Donna Foster reached first on an error on the second baseman and Dodson scored for a 5-4 lead. Boddie singled in Johnson before the inning was over and the RCGS felines never looked back.
