Finally, on June 9-10, the Rappahannock delegates and alternates will attend the State Democratic Convention in Richmond, where they will, with other delegates from all counties and cities of the State, elect Democratic nominees for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General. The candidates for two of these offices are unopposed: Doug Wilder for Governor and Mary Sue Terry for Attorney General.
The remaining office, that of Lieutenant Governor is being sought by Dick Saslaw and Don Beyer, who both come from the Northern Virginia area. As of this date, two delegates and two alternates are committed to Beyer, while two delegates are uncommitted.
