sembly as well as local candidates for Commonweatlh Attorney will be guest speakers at the mass meeting of the county Republican Party scheduled for Thursday, April 16, at 8 p.m. in the court house. Attorneys Douglas Baumgardner and Peter Luke, both seeking the office of Commonweatlh Attorney in the November elections, will each make a brief presentation before answering questions from the audience.
Rappahannock’s Cadette Girl Scouts will be providing babysitting services and conducting a Children’s Fun Fair at the Washington Baptist Church this Saturday, April 21. The girls are planning to use the proceeds from these activities to help pay for a camping trip to New York this summer.

Is the economy improving?
Ask Wayne Walker and you’ll get an unqualified “yes” for an answer. The manager of the Aileen Plant in Flint Hill, the single largest employer in Rappahannock County, sees the recent economic upswing - both nationally and locally - continuing and growing even stronger, judging by the performance of his company during the first quarter of 1984. “Since the first of the year, we’ve hired about 80 people, bringing our total number of employers to 382. We have close to as many now as we’ve ever had in sewing,” Walker said.
