The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District held its Annual Awards Banquet at Graves Mt. Lodge in Syria, Thursday, Oct. 26. Winning the Conservationist of the Year Award for Rappahannock County were Mary and Cliff Latham of Homer Hill Farm.

Homer Hill Farm is a 262-acre beef farm located near Amissville. Approximately 210 acres of the farm are open land consisting of pasture, hayland and crops. An additional 45 acres are woodland and are also managed by the Lathams.

To support the beef farm, the Lathams produce com, small grain.
