The Ellis Island Band, a traditional Irish music trio, will apppear at the Gay Street Theater in Washington on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 8 p.m. This popular Baltimore-based trio is known for its vitality of performance and versatility of repertoire.

The group features All-Ireland Champion button accordionist, Billy McComiskey. Billy’s music is in the style of the East Galway tradition. His settings and repetoire reflect the playing of his late friend and mentor, Sean McGlynn of Galway. As an original faculty member of the Augusta Heritage Workshop in Elkins, West Virginia, Billy has shared his knowledge of the music with students all across America.
